Oh My Dare

Privacy policy

Last updated 12 October 2026

Oh My Dare is a dare game for couples. It has no accounts and no sign-in. This page says exactly what the app collects, what it never collects, and how to turn collection off.

What stays on your device

None of this is sent anywhere. "Reset progress" in Settings lets you choose what to erase: the names, the play history, or your custom dares. Custom dares are kept unless you tick them.

What we never see

Your names, your email, and your custom dares. The app does not ask for an email, does not read the accounts on your phone, and never transmits anything you type.

Anonymous play stats

To learn which dares work and which get skipped, the app sends anonymous usage events to our analytics provider, PostHog (servers in the United States). Each event may include:

Events are queued on the device and sent when the internet is available. Playing offline works fully.

Who receives data

Nobody else receives anything. We do not sell data, do not use advertising networks, and do not share data with other companies for their own purposes.

Security

Everything the app sends travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Everything you type stays on your device.

Turning it off

Settings has a switch, Share anonymous play stats. Turn it off and nothing further is collected or sent. The switch is on by default and your choice is kept, including after Reset progress.

Purchases

Purchases are made through Google Play. Google handles payment; we never see your payment details. Google's own privacy policy applies to that transaction. Purchases are tied to your Google account by Google Play, which is how "restore" works on another device.

Permissions

The app requests only internet access, used solely for the anonymous stats above and for the Google Play purchase.

Children

Oh My Dare is for adults, 18 and over. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Retention and deletion

Anonymous events are kept by our analytics provider to study how the game is played. Because they carry no name, email or account, we cannot link them to you on request; turning the switch off stops any further collection, and uninstalling the app removes the random identifier so nothing new can be associated with it.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and material changes will be noted in the app.
